The shaman was known as “magician, medicine man. The shaman provided healing on many levels; physical, psychological and spiritual. The work of the shaman was based on the holistic model, which took into consideration, not only the whole person, but that person’s interaction with his world, both inner and outer.

What is Shamanism?
Shamanism refers to a range of traditional beliefs and practices concerned with communication with the spirit world. There are many variations of shamanism throughout the world, though there are some beliefs that are shared by all forms of shamanism: * The spirits can play important roles in human lives.
* The shaman can control and/or cooperate with the spirits for the community's benefit.
* The spirits can be either good or bad.
* Shamans engage various processes and techniques to incite trance; such as: singing, dancing, taking entheogens, meditating and drumming.
* Animals play an important role, acting as omens and message-bearers, as well as representations of animal spirit guides.
* The shaman's spirit leaves the body and enters into the supernatural world during certain tasks.
* The shamans can treat illnesses or sickness.
* Shamans are healers, gurus and magicians. |
Three Spiritual Realms
Lower world - Is where you would go to find, seek help with something, you would go on a journey to meet your spiritual guide or power animals. This can be anything, any problem, receive answers, or to find a missing part of yourself, for others, or to bring back missing power.
Middle world - Is where you would go to go forward or back in time on this planet. This can be in this life, past lives, future lives, or even parallel worlds. To gain insight, knowledge and healing. Upper world - Is where you would go to seek advice and guidance from your higher self, master, teacher, guide or guardian angel. |
